I own this – and love it – super quick and easy to use and clean – only problem is that I tossed out the rubber gasket because it’s HORRIBLY toxic and smelly (like others stated) and made my coffee taste like rubber. I didn’t have a replacement, so I simply took it out and just screw it together tightly enough that it doesn’t leak (and it doesn’t – except maybe a drop or two here and there). Use it every day, but It it SOOO difficult to unscrew after each use. Going to buy an upgraded model, but it works!

Recipe for the perfect Espressotini: Fill the cocktail shaker with shaved ice. Brew espresso using the stovetop espresso coffee maker and pour the coffee in the shaker. Add 1 serving each of Vanilla Flavored Vodka, Kahlua (R), and Baileys (R). Shake Vigorously and pour over the 2 martini glasses. Then use the chocolate grater included and shave fresh chocolate over the drink to make a beautiful garnish.

I got this from Ross. I wanted to get another one but Ross no longer carries it. The silly thing is I didn’t notice the Primula brand printed on the black handle..I ended up buying bialetti because it looked preety much similar to Primula and soon I found out it was mistake!! The advertising says 40 oz. That is not exactly true. If you take out the infuser and just fill it to the very top with water, no lid, yeah it is 40 oz. But for practical purposes, with tea, infuser (or flower tea)and lid it’s 32oz or less. Also the slits in the infuser are so narrow they can be blocked by larger tea leaves. Just not as functional as it seems.

The great thing about a glass teapot is that you can see exactly how the tea is brewing. This means you can use the color to tell you how strong the tea is at a glance. Accordingly, we always have a few glass pots in our house.

Unfortunately, this particular glass tea pot is extremely fragile … a lot more fragile than other glass pots we have used. The pot looks great, its true, but if you just barely clank the lid against the pot as you take the lid on or off, a piece of glass will simply break off. This has now happened to two of these pots, each after just over a week of use, and we will not be buying any more of them. The problem is that the glass is just too thin. This is great for looks, but it is simply not practical for regular use.

My suggestion, if you like glass teapots, stick with Bodum pots since these pots are a heck of a lot sturdier and will typically last a few years rather than just a week.

This is theoretically a great gift. However, when I received it I noticed how little padding/packing material there was. The box with the pitcher & tea was placed in a larger box with very little packing material – maybe some brown paper, but not much. Because of this, the tea pot had broken in a couple of places. Great item, poor packaging. I re-ordered it, but not from Amazon. I re-ordered it from Bed, Bath, and Beyond – same price, MUCH better packing. The box with the tea pot & tea was wrapped in huge, puffy bubble wrap before it was placed in the larger box, and it all arrived intact. Usually I’m very satisfied with my shopping experiences on Amazon, but for this item in particular, I recommend purchasing it somewhere else!

All the small glass canisters were broken (very fragile) but I emailed Amazon and they immediately replaced it with a full new set (did not ask me to send back the one with all the broken canisters, so now I have a spare teapot for just in case. The set is quite lovely, the tea is a meditative experience to enjoy, and the beauty of watching the flowers unfold gives a sense of peace (see on youtube-flowering teas). Primula Black 40-Ounce Teapot Includes Loose Tea Infuser and 3 Flowering Green Teas Reviews By Customers
I have read the reviews listed here and I will try to address some of the concerns.

1) The tea infuser as the directions DO indicate is used for loose tea. The directions on how to use the flowering tea are actually right on the box itself and I am unsure how someone could miss it. One must actually read the loose directions that come in the box to uderstand how to use the tea infuser for LOOSE tea which is in fact what a tea infuser is used for. This does not however seem like the best infuser but its a free addition so I wont complain. I actually like using this infuser to drain the pot for the last cup without getting all of the loose tea bits mixed in.

2) 40oz is 40oz. It makes about 5 cups of tea. I am talking about actual tea cups not going out and buying a 32oz Big Guld and calling it a tea cup.

3) There is a plastic shell that does partially encase the pot…go ahead and take a look at the picture. I have mixed feelings on this. I like to see the tea blossom and a totally clear pot allows for this to a greater extent. The plastic casing however does help insulate the pot and allows you to handle the pot a little easier as it does not tranfer the heat to the handle and the base.

4) Incase anyone was wondering the Spanish review said that the pot came broken. This is more of a shipping issue than a pot usage issue. My pot came boxed in bubble wrap and was not broken.

Like another reviewer I saw the promotion where you got this teapot for free when you bought a pack of flowering teas. It seemed like a great bargain and a neat gift idea, so I bought a couple.
When they arrived I was a bit disappointed by 3 things:
1) one teapot came in a cute box with a photo of the flowering tea blooming in the pot while the other teapot came in a plain white box with a product code and “made in china” printed on in black block letters (not so pretty to give as a gift);
2) the box with the picture of the teapot had an “As Seen on TV” emblem on it, which made it seem a bit cheesey;
3) The quality of the plastic was cheap and the glass seemed really flimsy- it wasn’t the nicest teapot to give as a gift.
Still I thought giving it with the box of teas made it a decent gift for a yankee swap, so I did. I kept the 2nd teapot for myself.

The first time I washed it I was so careful, but I still tapped the side of my sink when moving it from sink to draining board (I hand washed it as a safeguard- ha!). The glass shattered into many tiny, sharp shards. I cleaned it up, but it was pretty dangerous (I’m glad it broke in my sink and not on my floor!).

All in all I’m disappointed with this purchase. The product isn’t high quality and the glass is so flimsy, I knew it was just a matter of when (not if) it was going to break. I’m just glad I got it for free. I would not buy again and I would not recommend to others Which is too bad because I did enjoy watching the flower bloom when tea was steeping.

I got this tea pot as a gift set for Christmas, and adored the way it looked. But the first time I washed it it broke! I took it out of the black plastic to wash it, but as I was trying to press it back in place the spout broke. I was able to return it to the store, but what a waste! I tried to brew a fifty ounce pot of tea and it took me three to get a good taste and aroma without being to weak. The taste is pretty good when I finally found what my particular strength for this tea was. The Earl Grey brand does have a strong aroma and for some reason the taste also taste more like a perfume than it should. Overall pretty good but not the best I have ever had.

When I saw this labeled as Black Tea/Earl Grey Tea I expected a deeper, more intense cup of tea. These brew up very light, almost like I’m drinking a very watered down cup of my regular Earl Grey tea.

The only “positive” comment is that I do find it interesting to watch them expand and flower when I pour in the water. While I’m sure there are many people pleased with this product, I really don’t think it’s worth the money I paid.
