The Handpresso Wild is a portable espresso machine that you can take virtually anywhere! Small and convenient, the Handpresso travels with you on vacation/business trips, hiking, boating – anywhere that you would like to enjoy a premium quality espresso, cappuccino, Americano, or latte! Light and durable, the Handpresso Wild can be stored easily in a drawer at work or in an apartment, in a backpack or even with camping gear. Handpresso Wild is a simple and compact Nomadic Espresso maker. All you need is some boiling water and any E.S.E Pod, which ensures premium quality in every cup and is easily acquired at coffee houses and grocery stores, no matter where you are. This also eliminates the mess associated with espresso making when on the go. Just pump up the Handpresso until the needle is in green area on the Pressure gauge; this says you’re at 16 bars of pressure, now you can add hot water from a kettle or a thermo-insulated bottle. Place an E.S.E. pod in the filter, close the top and press the button to dispense the espresso! It’s never been easier or required less clean up to make your espresso or cappuccinos until now! Due to the coffee grounds being kept in the E.S.E. pod you never have to worry about cleaning your Handpresso Wild because when your done brewing, you simply throw away your pod and rinse out the water receptacle. It really can’t be any more hassle free than that!
Handpresso Wild 16-Bar Hand-Pump Portable Espresso Machine Reviews By Customers
I heard of the handpresso a couple of months ago and quickly dismissed it. Last week, I came across it again and noted their new model uses ground coffee (known as WildomePod model) vs ESE. Upon watching the promo video from the company, I was curious because it seemed to be able to work as advertised. That same night, I found the WildomePod model in Amazon and placed the order. I had used now for two days in the office and I am loving it. To provide perspective, I own a Rancilio Silvia, known for its ability to make great espresso. As spoiled as I am for high quality coffee, I hate to pay up for espresso based coffee at Starbucks when at work. So normally, I drink office brewed coffee. My office now uses Keurig, which is a step up from drinking garbanzo bean coffee! Well. those days are over. I am now drinking a very decent espresso at work both in the morning and in the afternoon. The flavor is full bodied and the machine is extremely easy to use and to clean, you just rinse it.
The machine is well made, although a bit larger than I had expected. The instructions are clear and simple to follow. I must say that the first two times I used it when it arrived, i thought the machine was a hoax, because the coffee splattered and water leaked from the side. It probably was the rubber gasket that was a bit loose, but from the third attempt and four more brews later, the machine works like a charm. The trick to great espresso with ground coffee is how well the coffee is grind. I used the same setting that I use for my Rancilio and is perfect. With a spoon you compact the coffee in the filter basket and that’s all it takes. seems a bit pricey, but the handspresso should pay by itself when you compare it to buying coffee at work. And ground coffee is a lot cheaper than ESE. ESE is convenient but at a price and you can’t just not match the quality of fresh ground coffee.
Handpresso says the machine should be serviced after 5 years or 5000 brews. It comes with a 2-year warranty. It comes with an extra gasket and a second filter. I estimate it will take me about 13+ years to reach 5000 brews in the office. I hope to retire before them but in the meantime, from now on I will always enjoy my coffee break!
Requires Pods – You cannot use any coffee… – T. Owen – oaktown
It seems like a fine device, but I wanted to underscore that this is a POD ONLY device. If you like pods, fine. They are expensive and the choice of coffees from pods is limited. Pods, by definition, cannot be fresh coffee. It’s a mass produced item, not something you can get from fresh roasts at your local coffee roaster. So while I believe this might be a nice travel coffee device, don’t be a chump like I was and order it thinking you can use your own coffee source for it. My own fault- I didn’t read carefully enough. Returning it to Amazon without using it.

For people looking to create the ultimate home cafe experience…this ain’t it. So why a “5?” I have used the Handpresso for 2 months of zombie killing and, simply, I love this machine. I have tried Lavazza Gran Crema and Starbucks E.S.E. pods. My “+” adds to my enjoyment and my “-” detracts from my enjoyment.
+First: Size. I have a galley for my kitchen. I don’t have the counter space for a full piston press w/ burr grinder. Nothing I have seen comes close.
+Second: the quality of the piece is amazing. I read reviews claiming the press does not hold pressure after 30 uses. I don’t want to judge another’s experience based just on my own but I have pressed over 100 cups and mine still works (and looks) as new. I am very pleased.
+Third: this is the easiest … ah-hem … “espresso” maker I have ever used to maintain. This makes up for the extra work to make the drink.
-Can you call this espresso? Yes, it is 16 Bar before you press the button but it drops to 8 instantly. This can result in a cafe that it tastes too good. Yes, I like it better than “good” espresso. (However, Lavazza is too thin with this maker)
-Ease of use: Boil the water, 30 pumps, pre-heat the Handpresso water chamber with a charge of water, pre-heat your demitasse with some of the boiling water. A bit more work “up front” than my other machines but easier to clean and maintain.
