I got it for work, but ended up using it sometimes...
So the coffee grinder at work decided it didn't want to work anymore. This happened before, but this time I think it just wanted out. I bought this one for work and was going to expense it out, but decided that I'd keep it for myself and use it at work.

I've had it almost a year and it works. I accidentally overheated it once because I put too much coffee beans in there. Keep the level to just enough to cover the steel on the inside. I let it cool down and it worked again.

I'd say it's nice since it can grind about 15 cups of coffee at once and everything else is play by eye sight.

I'm pretty happy with it.

Not very good.
I've owned this for 2 years now. I am very surprised with it's poor performance. I owned a Braun for several years and it was very good for spices and coffee. I got a Krups with a tilted base that was probably at or below the performance of Braun for both. By controlling time of grind you have direct control of the grain size with a uniform distribtuion. Now with the Capresso we have found for grinding spices it is poor at controlling the granularity. I am not sure if this is by intent but you get a larger (coarser) particulate irrespective of time.

I would not buy this again. I am now buying a 2nd Krups to replace it. I would recommend the Krups or the Braun.

stopped working after 2 weeks
Had to return. Stopped working after two weeks. Also, it wasn't very powerful. Had to grind the coffee much longer than I did with my previous grinder (KitchenAid model which was discontinued).

great taste!
i have owned many grinders over the years, proctor silex, cuisineart, b+d, starbucks, braun and krups. my two favorites were the braun and krups and i was very close to getting another one of either but i read about the capresso and gave it a try. i am very glad i did. is it quiet? i would say quieter than most and perhaps a 8 out of 10. is it strong enough to grind tough beans? again it depends on what you are trying to use it for but i would say about an 8 out of 10. i think it seems a little less powerful than some because the design attemps to not over grind the beans and keep them cool. but in the regard of making a superlative tasting pot of coffee which is most important to me, i would give it a 10. it is by far the best i have owned. follow the instructions and the coffee does not stick to the cup. follow the instructions and the coffee tastes better than any i have previously used. if you do not like this unit it is because you are expecting something more dramatic. i respect things that are properly designed and do their job well because i am an engineer. this grinder does exactly what they say it does and produces great coffee. my wife agrees!

Motor quit
I bought this back in October, and used it to grind coffee beans twice a week or so. The motor abruptly stopped spinning the blades today. I am currently weighing whether to send it back to Capresso or to just buy a new one.

Too much static
I purchased this grinder about 3 months ago to replace a cuisinart that had stopped working. The Capresso is fairly quiet (compared to other grinders). It is fairly narrow and fits nicely in my small kitchen. My problem with the grinder is that when I remove the reservoir of ground coffee each morning- static pulls grinds out of the container and makes a mess. Before purchasing this grinder I read several reviews stating a small amount of grinds were pulled up by static- but I have much more than a small amount. I have a mess every morning- and am thinking of replacing this grinder with one that has no static.
Other than the static issue, I am very pleased with the features and quality of the grinder.

New Item Received Was Clearly Used!!
Received my new Capresso Burr Grinder the other day and very excited to get "burrrrrring" for my new french press! Trouble is . . . as I was unpackaging and getting ready to wash the few washable items to prepare for first use - I noticed that inside the top compartment was clearly coffee bean ground residue from being used prior. Sure the plastic bean holder and grounds collector looked brand new; but the main motor housing that does the grinding had brown coffee specs and residue all in it. Clearly had been used before, returned (possibly with factory defects - not known because I haven't even plugged it in yet!), re-packaged and then sent back out to some unsuspecting customer as a new product! Shame. Just a shame that our country continues to travel down this path of making immoral decisions to try and put-one-past-the-other-guy!

Good for regular grinds but not for espresso
I bought this grinder two months ago mainly to grind espresso to make decent shots with crema. That is not happening as the machine does not grind fine enough no matter the espresso bean . Otherwise it is great. I am disappointed since I must go back to having the store pregrind the bean and that isn't ideal for keeping coffee fresh. A better grind is is my future.

Good Grinder - Burrs Not Replaceable
All of Capresso's grinders are good grinders and do a great job, until the burrs dull, then you're out of luck.

Capresso refuses to sell anything but the upper burr ring. They will not sell the lower burr. When your burrs dull, you have no option but to throw the grinder away. Capresso may have a refurbed unit to sell you but their price is about what they go for new.

Just be warned that a normally replaceable part is not replaceable part on any of Capresso's burr grinders. The saddest part is that there is no reason to not sell the lower burr, except to force you to buy a new grinder.

Great machine. Bargain. Love it.
I am reviewing the brushed stainless steel Capresso 560 Infinity Burr grinder. It has an attractive appearance, but what is nicer is how well it works.

The stainless steel base is heavy giving it not only a real quality feel, but it also does not vibrate on the counter. The weight of the grinder also makes it easy to pull out the grounds cup and push it back in one handed--something my previous grinder, a Soleus Maestro couldn't do because it was too lightweight.

I have been using the grinder for about 4 months now, which means its ground at minimum 240 pots worth of coffee. I have not had many difficulties with the machine whatsoever. My only difficulty has been a self induced problem where the grinder almost ground to a halt because the grounds cup was full--an early morning mistake I had made.

Not all grinding has been completely static free, but most all times have been static free. The mess on the counter-top has been minimal. It seems to follow with which roast I have been grinding as to whether or not I get static. Trader Joe Peaberry gave me static. But Starbucks Sumatra, Cafe Verona, World Market Sumatra and Costa Rican Terazzu have not. I have chucked it up to nothing being 100% all the time. The grinder seems to do well with either oily beans or dryer ones. Other machines I have had usually had trouble with grinding oily or larger size beans.

It is not quiet but it is not as loud as some sort of crappy portable blade grinder. The motor sounds a tad bit cheaper than previous grinders I've had, but I'm not convinced entirely its the motor I hear. It could be the gearing that gives it such a whiny sound.

The hopper is easy to remove. The grinder is easy to clean out. The chute may become blocked if you fill up the grounds cup and keep grinding because it doesn't shut off automatically if the cup becomes full.

I paid 89.95 for this grinder. Its well worth the price. I love the grinder. I gives me trouble free action and a consistent grind every time. I think for most people this grinder would satisfy!

Excellent grinder, but not even remotely easy to clean; will return, if possible
I can't believe other reviewers are claiming this thing is easy to clean.

I do notice that there's a "cleaning kit" - the white container - displayed with the unit in the main photo for this product, but I certainly didn't receive it with this grinder. Maybe that - whatever it is - makes cleaning easier; dunno.

My espresso-making experience with this device is that I put in 2 scoops of espresso beans, fire it up on the the finest of the Fine settings (not the Extra Fine, just the Fine), and only 1 scoop comes out the other end no matter how long I leave it running.

I then open it to start cleaning it - because I want my missing scoop and because the directions state that it should be cleaned thoroughly after every use, especially if oily beans are used (and my beans are very oily) - and upon removing the top burr discover that the missing scoop of grinds is still in the grinding chamber.

So, I then use the pathetically minuscule brush to push as much of it down the chute into the bin as I can manage - which takes 3-4 minutes. Only then can I make my espresso, which tastes fantastic due to the well-ground coffee ... but afterwards I proceed to phase 2 of the cleaning process.

To get the remainder of the *loose* grounds out, I turn the thing over atop my sink. Not very elegant, but efficient. However, since my beans are oily, that doesn't actually suffice, so I go back in for a second assault with the tiny brush. This is where the real fun begins.

The base of the grinding chamber has 8 ~1cm-high pegs around the periphery that get in the way of the brush and must be cleaned, plus there's a ~30mm circular gap between the edge of the main plastic base of the grinding chamber and another plastic base below it (talk about a lame, pointless design!!). Getting grounds out of the grinding chamber and that tiny space while dodging around the pegs is miserable, and takes another 5 minutes.

By comparison, my crummy blade grinder takes about 1 minute to thoroughly clean after every use.

Oh, and the silliest part of the whole process - which is so annoying that I have to laugh at it - is that the part of the bottom burr assembly that sticks out above the top burr assembly has a ~1.5cm space above the screw that is exactly the size of a coffee bean, and every time I run beans through the unit, 1 bean gets stuck in that hole, so I have to tilt the machine at nearly 90-degrees to knock it out.

One might ask: why don't I grind a lot of beans and thereby reduce the time wasted cleaning? Because, in my experience, ground coffee doesn't last very long, even if well sealed. Plus, the directions for this unit actually state that one should not grind more beans than one intends to use in a day, for the same reason as I've learned from experience.

Upshot: if I can return this, I will, and I'm going to do a lot more research before selecting a replacement grinder.

Easy to clean!
I bought this grinder as a present for my husband. It's heavy duty and non-moving on the counter, easy to take apart for cleaning and quiet! It does a fantastic job of even grinding at all of the grind settings we typically use. The coffee has never tasted better!

Capresso 56505 Conical Burr Grinder
Ease of use: 10/10 Simple controls; grind size and time. What more do you need?
Appearance: 9/10 Would have preferred black, but the metal frame version doesn't come in black.
Construction: 10/10 Solid cast metal frame, not sheet metal or plastic. High torque, low speed motor for best grinding action without heating up.
Capacity: I only use it for 1 or 2 cups at a time, but it can hold/grind about 1/4 lb of beans.
Clean up: I've been using it daily for over a month with no cleaning required. The kit did include "cleaning beans" for when it needs it though.
Noise: 9/10 I was expecting less noise based on other reviews, but it isn't loud enough to be a problem and it works fast enough to minimize any inconvenience.

Overall Satisfaction 10/10 for functional aspects! All else is inconsequential.

As good the second time around
If you grind your own coffee beans, as we do, this nifty grinder will do exactly what you need. When our last one finally wore out after many years of use, we decided to stay with a good thing. It's safe, easy to use, and does what it supposed to do. How nice!

Cool, yes. But ...
I really want to like this grinder, but after a couple weeks of use I'm disappointed enough to shop for a replacement. I've been grinding coffee beans for +/- 15 years using less expensive machines, and decided to upgrade to a "better" grinder this time instead of simply replacing my Krups Fast Touch.

Pluses: the round design is comfortable to hold and has small footprint in cabinet, built-in cord storage is an excellent feature, easy to operate, round design is little less messy than the Krups Fast Touch when transferring grounds to canister, a little quieter than other machines due to lower pitch of moter sound, operates cooler than others so no scorching to interfere with taste.

Minuses: coarse grind only, grinds unevenly even after pulsing and shaking to mix contents, max capacity is more like 7 cups of grinds not 15 cups as advertised, blades are less sturdy than Krups Fast Touch.

There aren't many minuses here but function outweighs aesthetics. The blades are seated higher than the Krups Fast Touch which makes the grinder produce only a coarse, auto-drip, grind. I much prefer a fine grind, even for use in a drip maker, for more intense flavor and less bean consumption.

Unlocks the Aroma and Flavor
The Cool Grind is easy to use, and it works great for us for both coffee beans and spices like dried rosemary, lavender, flax seed and cardamom. The best part is the way it unlocks the aroma and flavor when you grind.

It Looks Good
However it doesn't work as well as my previous one from Pavoni. The cover on the Capresso fits around the outside of the grinder so when you transfer the ground coffee to another container there is always some cleanup required. It also takes longer to get the beans finely ground.

Works great. Not too noisy. Has rubber feet on the bottom and doesn't slide anywhere. Grinds very good. Doesn't overheat. Small amount of static only if you grind coffee continually. Manufacture recommends not to exceed grinding more than 3 times in a row. If you grind only once it doesn't cause static at all. For a full pot of 8 (6oz) cup, I grind 8 tablespoons of beans and set it at 5 on the timer, and all the beans grind perfect and none are left undone. Be careful, some coffee companies require 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 oz cup of water, then your settings would be different. I suggest you buy a cheap clear measurement cup with markings of tablespoons in it so you don't have to be counting each tablespoonfull at a time.

wonderful grinder
This grinder performs great. Quietest one I have owned. Smooth very consistent coffee. The container tends to move forward while it's running. This lets some coffee grinds escape at the end of the cycle. It has a finger at the bottom to hold it, but doesn't do a great job. I think it needs some sort of slip resistant surface on it. Maybe a thin layer of silicone? Haven't tried yet. Also did not receive the cleaner with the grinder. Still waiting on that, not holding my breath.

Very good coffee
I have had this coffee maker for over 1 year. it has been very good to me. Never has broken or given me a bad cup of coffee. There are many adjustments you can make to get the type of coffeee you want. Love everything about it. Grinds your coffee, easy to clean, easy to maintaine. If your looking for a very good, value priced capresso maker this is the one.

too expensive to maintain
I have been using the Jura Capresso for the past 3 years. The coffee has decent crema, but I am not happy with it's inability to make a very strong espresso. Setting the cup size is supposed to accomplish this, but the cup size is variable even when a single setting is maintained.
My bigest gripe is that 2 years ago the machine malfunctioned and again this year. There is a flat fee of 5 to fix it including mailing (find your own box) which I find extremely excessive for a delicate machine that seems to break down every 2 years. The customer service person did confirm that this happens to a number of customers, but it is not excessive in the company's point of view. Also the turn around time to fix the machine is 3 weeks.
I will switch to another product the next time it breaks down.

terrible sale
I would recommend that Amazon cancel this seller's right to sell via Amazon.

We paid for the product and thus filled our part of the deal, but never did receive our product. Emails and even phone calls were systematically ignored. We did finally get a response from the seller stating that he would refund our money that very day, yet that too was an empty promise. We finally had to take a legal approach.

They may be great individuals - but they have no business selling products on the web.

Step up to the Coffee Bar
The Impressa E9 is a nice system. I have owned one for a year and a half and have reached the 1000 cup mark. I am confident to say this is a fine machine. Every cup is consistent as long as you use a water filter, adjust the grind properly to suit your beans, and keep the machine clean. Even the scoop feature makes a a nice cup from ground coffee.

The Espresso tastes wonderful when the Impressa is on a Robust setting. A regular cup of coffee tastes just right on the Standard setting. Making a latte or a cappuccino is no longer a coveted Barista secret. This machine makes it fun and easy to try different styles. The frothing worked best with 2% milk and some patience, but came out beautifully. Make sure you clean the stem immediately after use.

This machine is very easy to clean. The drawer pulls out to expose the water pan and waste bin. It also reminds you to clean, rinse, or descale if you are forgetful. I like owning this machine best when I have guests. It is quick and easy to make each guest a perfectly, hot cup...any way they like it.

CONS - I would like to have a larger reservoir, but I am sure it would not compliment the design. The top of the machine looks like a cup warmer; although it does become warm during operation, it is NOT a cup warmer.

Weak Coffee
Nice looking machine but after two years of trying every kind of coffee and setting, we have come to the conclusion that this machine just makes very weak coffee period. We're finally dumping it. Since Williams and sonoma also deleted this line from their sales, I guess we are not the only ones that had problems with its performance

Clogging is a Huge Problem
This is our second try at this coffee maker. We sent the first one back because, right off the bat, the coffee got clogged in the grinder and would not feed into the filter chamber for brewing. We got a replacement and it worked okay for a couple of months. But, then it too got clogged with no way to fix it. It just seems to be poorly designed. I also do not like the design of the coffee pot. It is very hard to poor with the lid on (there is a lever to press which allows the coffee to come out, but also causes it to splatter) and even harder to empty (take the lid off and try to pour out the old coffee and it's almost impossible to get all of the fluid out of the pot thanks to ridges around the opening of the pot that trap the fluid when it is turned upside down). I would not waste so much money on this machine unless you can afford replacing it every year.

Best Capresso Yet
I have had a old version Capresso with the flip coffee grind container for the past few years and found it satisfactory but somewhat Rube Goldbergish requiring some fudging of the commands to get the coffee right. In a leap of faith after reading reviews I purchased the new version Capresso CoffeeTeam TS and have been using it for the past two weeks. Simply awesome! It is a great new design which has eliminated the quirky problems of my old Capresso. It is sleek, simple to use and, most important makes a truly great cup of coffee. Can't say the problems mentioned by some other reviewers bother me. Yes it makes noise when the grinder goes to work but certainly not louder then my old grinder. The stainless steel thermal carafe was expensive but now that I have it I think it is great and would not want to go back to a glass carafe. The coffee stays hot and does not "cook". Cleaning is a snap and I love the simple, easy to understand on-screen options for a perfect cup of coffee. Would I recommend it to a friend? Absolutely!

Best home coffee marker I've owned
I've been searching for years for the right home coffee maker. While I have owned units that I've liked, I have always had some short comings with them. After extensive research I came up with the Capresso CoffeeTeam TS. I really like the way the unit offers you the abilty to customize your coffee to your own taste. It has different grind settings and brew settings. So far this unit has delivered excellent coffee. I highly recommend it.

Do you love overpriced coffemakers, that dont work?
What a waste of money, First of all its never told the right time. How hard is it make a clock that tells time in 2010?? I've had kenmore machines that work better than this pile. Secondly, it leaks like a sieve. Leaked all over my countertop and distroyed my tile, grout, and oak cabinets. GOOD JOB CAPRESSO, GREAT PRODUCT.

Best coffe grinder/brewer on the market!
I purchased this Capresso TS-465 on the advice of a friend whose hobby is blending, roasting and grinding coffee beans. It was great advice. There are many adjustments so you can have the exact brew that suits your taste. It is user friendly so learning to use it comes easy. The best part is easy clean-up. Dump the grounds and rinse the brew basket and that is it. Just add water and set the controls and you're ready for the next brew. I love this machine!

Awesome
After doing a lot of on-line research for a really good grind and brew coffee maker I picked this one because of all of the great reviews. My husband is a lover of a good cup of coffee. He buys his whole beans directly from Seattle Coffee Company and grinds them himself, so I needed to make sure he had an awesome grind and brew to replace the old one that was on it's last legs. He absolutely loves this coffee maker so much better than the one he had for many years. He is a happy camper now. He loves the fact that you can tailor your strengths of brewed coffee. You will absolutely love this coffee maker. As others have stated it was loud when it would grind the coffee, but it is not any louder than any other grind and brew coffee maker. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this grind and brew. Like all coffee drinkers say first thing in the morning, "Ahhhhh, I love my coffee", and you will with this coffee maker.

good quality but bad design if you like strong coffee
we bought this machine at a local store and unfortunately have to return it - even on the strongest setting the coffee is very weak. Given, we prefer very strong coffee, but a machine at this cost should have some flexibility to allow you to adjust how much coffee gets ground. We set it for 8 cups, filled it with beans, put 8 cups of water in and set it for the strongest coffee setting. We used high quality french roast beans, and what came out was really weak coffee.

If you don't like strong coffee this machine is probably great for you - and for quality it seems to be 5 star by our initial assessment. But if you prefer stronger coffee then you might not want to waste time with this one.

Awesome coffeemaker!
We had an earlier model Capresso coffeemaker for 14 years. It was an excellent machine. This newer design is even better! Originally we bought a Cuisinart grind and brew. In short, compared to the Capresso it is a piece of junk. The Capresso takes up less space on the counter, is quieter and makes better coffee to suit your particular taste. The only thing that is not superior to the older design Capresso is that the coffee bean hopper is much smaller which means it needs to be filled more often. Best Grind & Brew Coffee Maker around
We bought this Capresso coffee maker 6 months ago. (This replaced another Capresso coffee maker that lasted 8 years!) I was worried as some of the features had changed in this new model. Fortunately all the changes were good.

My main concern was the cleaning of this machine. Turns out that this is even easier to clean (unlike the Cuisinart grind and brew, which I would never buy because it is such a pain to clean)
To clean, you rinse out the pot and filter basket. And you're ready to make a new pot of coffee. It's very easy to add water and beans. It literally takes just a minute to make a new pot.

The coffee is very hot after it finishes brewing. And the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot and fresh for hours.

We like our coffee strong. This new model allows you to grind many more beans for a full pot. (we used to have to do two grinds to make one pot in our old model)

It is loud but fortunately our kitchen is nowhere near our bedroom so this is a non-issue.

Good work Capresso. Now if the coffee maker made 12 cups, instead of 10, I would give it 5+ stars. However, Capresso believes that 10 cups should be the maximum amount of coffe made in one brew. They believe the coffee degrades in quality with a larger amount of water.
