    This Braun KF580 coffemaker is the very best coffeemaker that I have ever purchased!! It is the perfect size, not too big, not too small, very dependable, not a lot of bells and whistles that I don’t need, just the automatic turn on and turn off. My previous Bran lasted forever. I had no luck finding this in a local store, was sooo happy to be able to purchase it on-line. Just thrilled to get a new one!

    This coffee maker is on par with Braun Quality. We have owned 3 Braun coffee makers and because they are no longer available in Canada we bought this one through Amazon. Very happy with it

    Made in China Junk tarnishing a former good reputation – Shouffrey –
    A loyal Braun Customer no more. All the past Brauns I’ve owned were made in Germany, the last one lasted at least 10 years, worth the 0 ammortized over 10 years, per year of flawless performance. This piece of junk is a joke, per year will cost 0 over ten years.

    A friend owns the same one made in Czechoslovakia, there is no comparison. The materials (plastic) are completely differet. The carafe lid on the Chinese one started to crack in the first month. The top of the coffeemaker and filter basket are discoloring. The Czech unit, which is older.. has none of these problems.

    The drip stop is aptly named, because when you pull out the carafe, it Drips…. then stops.

    The timer and clock are not the same to set as previous Brauns, requiring yet another learning curve. The clock is SLOW to set too.

    The water fill guage on the side is nearly impossible to see, light blue…doh!

    The overflow on the back of the water tank is so close to the full water level, it spills if you move it.

    There does not seem to be a filter basket overflow….. fill the basket with too much coffee and it makes a giant mess on the counter and in the water tank.

    The coffee sloshes and spills when you pull the carafe from the warming plate.

    +The rubber handle on the carafe is nice.
    +The filter basket button is nice.
    +The coffee brews quickly and tastes good.

    Next pot will be a Portugese Capresso.

    We have had 2 Braun coffeemakers before this, and this was to replace our last one which died of old age. It took a bit of getting used to the slim design – but we love it !! Love the fact that the coffee basket locks in, since it came to ‘swing out’ on our last one towards the end of it’s life. This new Braun pleases us and I would always recommend a Braun !

    Braun KF590 Impressions Digital 10-Cup Programmable CoffeemakerWe have tried many coffee makers. Seems the newer ones are all show – they look good on the counter but they either wear out fast or develop mold problems in the tank. This Braun relpaced a Cuisenart that ground the coffee for you. Nice while it lasted but just was not up to the task. Fortunately we did not get rid of an old -15 yrs – Braun we stashed in the attic. We purchased the KF590 and it is a pleasure. Sorry to hear that Proctor and Gamble (Braun’s new owners since 2006) are trying to stop Braun sales in the US. You can bypass US distribution and get many Braun products straight from Europe – just need a converter.

    This is a great coffee maker at any price. Easy to operate – I had it set up in less than five minutes. We ignored the instructions on the water filter since we use bottled water, and we’re quite happy with the quality of the coffee. Stand and carafe keep the coffee hot, not just warm. Finally, it uses less coffee than our previous coffee maker – we grind our own and had to cut the amount we use in half. This is a great deal.

    I like the coffee it makes when it works. The screen clogs often and floods the counter and floor. The auto stop when you want to get a cup of coffee when brewing does not work. A lot of money for a coffee pot that works part time and defective.

    I purchased this to replace an older Braun coffe maker, that broke after 10 years of full service. Easy to operate machine especially the programmable features and the memory to remember the time even unplugged for up to 10 minutes. I wish the carafe could hold a 12 cup like the previous older model, and also that had the aroma adjuster to control it.

    Overall, I was impressed with this coffee maker, except that it had one terminal flaw. The filter housing swivels out for easy access. However, the catch mechanism is flawed. It is flimsy plastic and on the first coffeemaker it broke off. On the replacement pot it appeared to work fine, until you started brewing coffee. Then, as water dripped into the coffee+filter, the catch would pop due to the added weight, swing open dribbling coffee all over the counter top.

    The company I dealt with was great to do business with. I explained my problems. They provided return shipping both times and gave me a full refund. I would consider a newer model of Braun coffeemaker, but I would want to see the reviews first, to see if they addressed this problem.
