This product contains three replacement gaskets and one filter for Bialetti 3 cup, stovetop espresso coffee makers.

I guessed that the 3-cup version was what I needed for our 4-cup stainless steel Bialetti pot, and luckily I was right. The gasket’s outer diameter is 2.5 inches, and the ring is 0.25 inches wide.

It is the real deal, Bialetti product – a package of 3 gaskets plus a replacement filter. A great deal at this price.

The only thing I would indicate for this part is the cup size of the espresso pot and if it is interchangeable for the stove-top or electric espresso pots. 6 Cup Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Espresso/Coffee Maker Replacement Gasket & Screen

I have a 6 cup moka express and a Brikka, they are both excellent but the Brikka produces a lot of crema which is the main reason I bought it after buying the Moka express.

The moka express is still working fine after 6 months of use, no leakages ..nothing, but the Brikka started leaking after only three months of use, I guess it’s because of the high pressure it produces, so it was time for a gasket change.

I searched AMAZON for a Brikka gasket but couldn’t find any, this was the closest I found, I swapped my Mokas gasket with the Brikkas and it worked fine, so I ordered this and it was a perfect fit, you just need to keep it tightly closed for a while so that the gasket takes the shape of the coffee filter. Now your set for great espresso.

I’ve had this Bialetti for about eight months now. Apparently I got somewhat lucky in that the first one I received didn’t have any defects. I like it. There’s essentially nothing to break, and it’s rugged – heavy gauge stainless. No problem taking it camping. A few things to keep in mind about these type of coffee makers:

– A “cup” is like a “shot” at Starbucks. Think demitasse.

– The strength of the coffee produced can be somewhat modulated by how much ground coffee is put in the basket, how much it’s packed in the basket, and how finely ground the coffee is. If you pack/fill the basket, it will be slow to brew and come out very strong. If you partially fill the basket and don’t pack it, the coffee will be weaker and come out quickly. Slight changes seem to make a fairly large difference in the results.

– One minor gripe is that I don’t like the handle that’s on the flip top lid. The way mine is installed, it’s not possible to flip the lid up with your thumb while your hand is on the main handle. Sometimes I like to flip the lid up to check the brewing process and there isn’t an easy way to do so. Not a big deal..

I’ll have this coffee maker forever.

I had to re-order the item three times to finally receive a good one. The first one came with a broken handle, the second one with a leaking valve…Funny when you think that Chrysler is now going to get the Italian technology (sic). In all fairness, Fiat won’t get much from Chrysler either.

I’ve had a couple moka pots and while this one seems to work fairly well, it’s very evident that outsourcing the manufacturing on these from Italy (some Bialetti are still made there) to India has caused quality to suffer. The stamped logo is crappy, the lid hinges are crooked and the pin that holds the lid to the hinge is slightly bent and works it’s way half way out each time it’s used. The moka pot works fairly well but at this quality it should have been about half as much. This takes longer to heat up than an aluminum moka pot and I did notice that it doesn’t like my gas stove tops nearly as much as electric and I think that because the base is so small the gas ring on the stove is almost bigger than the base so you need to keep it on a small burner with the flame on medium to low. The product works, it’s just a shame that you can definitely tell the quality has suffered by being made in India rather than the usual quality manufacturing that Italy produces.

1.) Remove the plunger;
2.) drop a few spoonfuls of ground coffee into the glass beaker;

6.) pour and enjoy!

WARNING: If you’re not used to coffee with a high caffeine content, go easy with this at first. An ensuing caffeine headache is almost guaranteed any day following a high-caffeine intake day UNLESS you continue to take in high caffeine levels at or near the same time of day. To avoid caffeine headaches, be consistent with your daily caffeine intake OR, withdraw from caffeine gradually, reducing the amount over a number of days.

Pros:

fast, easy, affordable, convenient, rinse-and-store clean-up

Cons:

A floating coffee granule or two may occasionally be found in the brew. For me, this isn’t really a drawback and it only happens infrequently, particularly with fine-ground coffee.

Bialetti coffee makers are consistently among the best of the affordable genre of manual home brewers. This one’s no exception.

I have an electric stove, so the wide bottom of the Mia works great with burners that are much larger than most stove top espresso makers. I use this almost daily. My only complaint is that the top half is a little hard to clean. Since it’s all stainless (including the handle) it’s dishwasher safe, which I need to do about once a month.

I have an electric stove, so maybe this works better on gas stoves. My coffee took over 20 minutes to make, and then it tasted terrible! The bottom of it was kind of burned as well. I have had two other espresso makers, including a stainless steel one, and they both worked fine, so it’s not like I don’t know how to use one. I would not recommend this maker.

Well it works. After a bit of a learning curve about how much water the pot will tolerate, I can certainly make a good cup of coffee with this. My main complaint is about the quality of the pot. When it arrived, the lid was askew, the hinge not being straight. I had to adjust it so that it sits straight, but it still isn’t a good fit. Considering the price, it’s quite shoddily made overall. Not worth the money.

My fun-loving life as a stove-stop barista would have begun much earlier if Bialetti just said the following:

“When you see the crema, you’re done!”

Sadly, it was in my third month of use before I accidentally discovered that the Bialetti Musa generates crema similar to that of espresso machines. When I saw that tan foam floating inside the upper chamber the first time, I cut the heat then. The taste was better than before. In the following weeks, I learned the best time to take the heat off was when crema production reached it peak.

Peak production in my Musa is when the crema sits on 50-60 percent of the espresso surface measured about two inches from the lid. Allowing the pot to continue brewing after this coverage is reached results in the crema disappearing and the taste degrading.

Although the crema surface coverage is not full, the Musa espresso taste is rich — more so than many coffee shop machine brews I’ve had.

The failure to note the crema generation is my only complaint. Now, that I’ve learned it on my own, my low-tech Musa produces high-brow espresso.
